Chinatown

Chinatown

Chinatown is known for its buzzing food scene, so if you are a foodie, you just have to make your way over here. It has many Asian bakeries, as well as dim sum restaurants and cocktail bars to spend your evenings. You can also pick up Chinese groceries. You’ll also find Dr. Sun Yat-Sen Classical Chinese Garden, which has tranquil paths and pavilions to enjoy.

Mount Pleasant

Mount Pleasant is mainly residential area of Vancouver and is a usual spot for meeting up with friends or family socially. It has many gastropubs and indie fashion shops on the Main Street as well as chain restaurants in the popular Cambie Village. You’ll be able to buy a lot for your skiing holiday in the outdoor stores which sell anything from kayaks, to bikes and ski gear. Science World is another top spot to visit as it shows interactive exhibits and IMAX films in a geodesic dome.

Commercial Drive

Commercial Drive is a great introduction to Vancouver’s diversity. You’ll find so much going on here that you just won’t want to leave! At the south end of the neighbourhood is John Hendry Park, by Trout Lake. From May to October on a Saturday you will find that the park hosts an excellent farmer’s market. You’ll also want to take a leisurely walk through this park and maybe even have a picnic. At the north end of the Drive, you’ll find a theatre space, and Grandview Park. Many people like to come here to experience the rich culture of the city. There are also plenty of shops and fashion hangouts.
